Disagree with this blog. Boston had their own fate in their hands and bombed miserably. If they couldn't find an extra gear for those games, what makes you think they could have done it in the playoffs?

I think TB still wins over Boston in much the same manner.

its a f.n. moot point, were they a better team than detroit, yeah, probably, but they choked on it worse than linda lovelace, and got the fate they deserved. Frank them.
and yes, I'm still a little bitter.

lets face it, it would have been (mentally) being far out of the playoffs for most of the year like the Habs or the leafs, or any other team from Canada.

Carlo is supposed to be a better version of McQuaid?

Thought he was supposed to be a potential top pair or solid top four, but I have been hearing/reading from writers that best case is an okay top four. Kind of disappointed........maybe it changes.

Has anyone seen him play for the baby Bs yet?

My biggest complaint is actually the NHLs tie-breaker formula. Boston and Detroit were equal in points. Boston beat Detroit in 3 of 4 games- that should be the primary toe-breaker. If you want to exclude SO wins from that equation fine but the current system diminishes rivalries and the meaning of regular season series, especially between division opponents. I still think Tampa would have advanced as I think Bishop outplays Rask and overall Bostons D has really declined- but they should have made it even with the exact record they had.

As much as Boston sucked this year & last, as much as their brutal d-men, as much as Rask being a sieve, as much as the incompetence of the management team ..... there's always next year.

So how do you live through a 20 year rebuild anyway? Just missing the playoffs 2x is driving me to drink more.

The C's play the way I wish the B's played............odd that I have to turn to the NBA for a Boston playoff fix.

Boston loves it's grinding blue collar teams.
